Solis Maestro Coffee Grinders

A Solis espresso machine perfectly blends advanced features and user friendliness, so it’s no surprise that Solis Maestro coffee grinders do the same. There are three different types of Maestro grinders to suit your individual needs and price range. While some of the features differ from model to model, what remains the same is the high-quality Swiss craftsmanship found in each grinder. The internal components of each Maestro are made in Switzerland, where the Solis company is headquartered. Also, each type of Maestro grinder is a conical burr grinder, considered to be highly superior to a blade grinder due to its ability to carefully crush coffee beans at a slow rate of speed, preserving the flavor of the coffee it grinds. Another benefit of conical burr grinders is that they have quiet operation due to the slow pace at which the burr operates.

The most basic type of Solis Maestro grinder is the Solis Maestro Classic. However, don’t let its name fool you; for being a “classic” or “basic” machine, it has some very sophisticated features. Its 18 grind settings is astounding, particularly for its price (it can be found online for less that $100), which will ensure a perfect grind size no matter what type of coffee beverage you are interested in preparing. If you use an espresso machine, you can use the Maestro Classic to grind your beans directly into your espresso maker’s portafilter. Or, if you like to grind a large volume of coffee beans at one time, the Maestro Classic can store a half pound of coffee beans at one time. This also is convenient for those who do not want to scoop coffee beans into their grinder each and every day; just grind what you need and keep the rest in the grinder for another day. The Maestro Classic’s cutting wheel is removable for easy cleaning. The Maestro Classic does not have an automatic grinding setting, but if you want a high quality, yet basic coffee grinder, the Maestro Classic will definitely do the job you want it to do.

The regular Solis Maestro grinder is a step up from the Solis Maestro Classic. It has all the features of the Maestro Classic, but can grind either manually or automatically, so if you want to control your coffee beans’ grind time, you have the ability to do so. The regular Solis Maestro can be purchased for approximately $100.

If you want to splurge a little more, the Solis Maestro PLUS will run about $150 and features a remarkably large amount of grind settings. There are 40 grind settings on the Maestro PLUS, 22 more than the other two Maestro models. These extra grind settings increase the number of coarse grinding options, so that you can have the precise coarseness you need for your French press or drip machine. The Maestro PLUS also has manual and automatic operation settings.
