In the early 20th Century, Lavazza shifted his company to focus solely on coffee production instead of also overseeing his retail grocery store operation. In the early 1960s, Lavazza Coffee introduced the first vacuum-packed ground coffee that was suitable for long-term shelf life. Lavazza coffee beans are now sold and enjoyed worldwide. Some of Lavazza’s offerings include Caffe Crema, Caffe Espresso, and Dek, Lavazza’s decaffeinated coffee.
Today, not only are Lavazza beans beloved around the world, the company is also the market leader in Italy, where it all began. There, Lavazza Coffee controls 45% of the coffee market. The company claims that out of the 20 million households in Italy that consume coffee, Lavazza is consumed by 16 million of those families. Lavazza also dominates the coffee market globally, where its products are distributed in 80 countries.
Lavazza Coffee produces more than just great coffee. The company has also expanded into producing coffeemakers. Two popular machines are the Lavazza Espresso Point and Lavazza Blue; the latter utilizes special Lavazza pods to uniquely yet simply brew a perfect cup.
