As is true with any piece of equipment, Lavazza espresso machines require a certain amount of regular cleaning and maintenance. By taking a few minutes each day to make sure your Lavazza Espresso Point Matinee espresso maker is clean and in good working over, you can extend the life of the machine and make your investment of a pricey coffee machine well worth the cost. While it may seem like hassle to perform daily cleaning tasks, if you make it a habit, you will find the time commitment to be far from daunting.

Like any espresso machine, your Espresso Point Matinee will develop Lavazza coffee grounds in its internal components. Removing this buildup will help the machine to run to the best of its potential. Fortunately, the Espresso Point Matinee comes with the cleaning tools necessary to perform proper routine maintenance. Two cleaning rods, one single-pronged rod and one double-pronged rod, will help you clean out every crevice inside the machine. The Espresso Point Matinee also comes with a key to insert into the pod compartment to help with cleaning, as well as empty pods that assist in running cycles after cleaning has been completed.

In order to clean the pod compartment (where pods are inserted into the Espresso Point for brewing), insert the key, and then insert and remove the double-pronged cleaning wand into the pod compartment at least ten times. Make sure that you moisten the cleaning rod with lukewarm water before performing this task. The brewing nozzle should be cleaned with the single-pronged rod that has been wet with lukewarm water. Perform the same insertion/removal motion as with cleaning the pod compartment so that the buildup of coffee grounds is removed.

The steam dispenser can be disengaged and separated into three parts: A metal tube, a smaller metal part, and a knob. Make sure to position the steam dispenser as if you were going to use it before removing its components, then wash each part with lukewarm water using the single-pronged cleaning wand.

The pod drawer, which holds up to 32 used Lavazza espresso pods, may be cleaned with lukewarm water. Use a damp cloth to clean the Espresso Point’s external components. Soapy water can be used to clean the cup compartment. It is extremely important to not use any harsh, abrasive cleaning agents to clean any of the espresso machine’s components so that the integrity of each part is not compromised.

After you have completed these cleaning tasks, you will want to use an empty pod to run a trial cycle before using your machine to brew coffee once again. Place an empty pod into the machine; water will collect in the used pod drawer, which should be empty when you perform this cycle. After you have run an empty pod through the machine’s brewing process; empty the pod drawer and your Espresso Point will be ready to be used for beverage making once again.

By performing these simple tasks daily or several times a week, your Lavazza Espresso Point Matinee should be in tip-top shape for years to come!

Lavazza espresso machines are known for their user-friendliness. Still, it is important to have a good understanding of how to properly operate these machines so that you are creating the best espresso possible. The Lavazza Espresso Point Matinee is a wonderful residential-use espresso machine that can create decadent coffee beverages with only the press of a button.

Like Lavazza BLUE espresso machines, the Lavazza Espresso Point Matinee uses cartridges to brew coffee and espresso. These cartridges are are small plastic containers that hold a pre-measured amount of Lavazza coffee grounds, so no measuring is required on the part of the user. Additionally, the user does not have to hassle with depositing messy grounds into the machine, which is one of the reasons why these machines are so popular. Before starting up your Matinee for the first time, it is imperative to find a location for it that will allow it to “breathe.” Since the machine gets hot when in use, it needs to operate in a location that has good air circulation, like a kitchen counter. A drawer will probably not provide enough circulation and could cause safety issues later on. If the Matinee is sitting far enough back from the wall on a kitchen counter, this will allow you to make coffee safely and efficiently. Fill the Matinee’s water tank, and then turn on the machine. Place your cup of choice on the Matinee’s grill. (You may select virtually any sized beverage vessel, thanks to manual as well as pre-set quantity buttons, which will be outlined later on.) Next, use the Matinee’s lever to insert a coffee pod into the pod holder. Lightly place the pod into its proper place, but do not push the pod into position with your fingers; this could prove to be unsafe due to the fact that the inner components of the Matinee get quite hot. Instead, close the lever until you can hear the pod click into place. At this point, you are reading to begin brewing your beverage!

As previously mentioned, you can use a beverage preset to brew your espresso, or you can brew manually. There are three preset beverage quantities from which to choose: Small will fill an espresso cup, medium will fill a coffee cup halfway, and large will fill a coffee cup. These options are great for brewing into an espresso or coffee cup, but sometimes it is more convenient to brew into different sized vessels, such as an insulated travel mug. In this case, the manual button can be used. If one of the preset buttons is pressed, brewing will automatically shut off once the selected quantity is reached. If you decide to press the manual brew button, liquid will dispense until the stop button is pressed. (If, for some reason, you need to stop the brewing process during a preset quantity cycle, you may do so by pressing the stop button as well.)

One great feature of the Lavazza Espresso Point Matinee is that it can perform more functions than just brewing coffee and espresso. If you would like to create cappuccino and other beverages, you can add milk to your brewed coffee and then use the Matinee’s steam spout. Simply place the spout into your cup and select the steam dispense button. Press the stop button when the desired amount of steam has been ejected, and remove the spout. The Matinee also doubles as a hot water dispenser if you are making tea, broth, or hot chocolate. Place the steam spout into your beverage vessel and press the hot water button. Water will be dispensed from the steam spout until you press the stop button.

Naturally, illy espresso can be enjoyed in any type of espresso or coffee cup, but drinking it from illy cups is a great way to give your coffee an extra special touch. Illy espresso cups can also make beautiful décor for any coffee fanatic’s kitchen. Matteo Thun created the design of the illy cup and saucer; this simple yet sophisticated design is striking when baring only the illy logo on the side, but is beautiful when covered with artwork as well.

The most unique and revered of illy’s china cups are the decorated cups that are released in limited amounts approximately twice every year. Ever since the first round of collector’s cups was created in 1992, these one of a kind cups have become a coveted item for illy fans, coffee connoisseurs, and modern art aficionados alike. Each edition of collector cups features artwork by a talent in the world of modern art. Past illy espresso cup artists have included Joseph Kosuth, James Rosenquist, and Sandro Chia. Cups have also featured designs from other types of artists, such as legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. Since each collection of illy cups features limited edition design, each cup is signed and numbered, making them highly sought after collector’s items.

The designs feature on each set of illy cappuccino cups and espresso cups are as varied as the artists who have contributed their work to this special product. Past designs have featured themes related to nature, pop culture, and Italian culture. The most recent set of cups are graced with the artwork of William Kentridge. This cup and saucer set features artwork on the saucers; the cups have mirrors on them to create an anamorphic image when set atop the saucer.

Illy espresso cups and cappuccino cups are sold in sets of either two or six cups and saucers. The most current design, available for sale on illy’s website, can be purchased for approximately $200. If you are eager to enjoy Matteo Thun’s cup and saucer design without plunking down hundreds of dollars for a collector’s set, illy also sells simple white cups with illy’s red and white logo emblazoned on the side. This design is sold in espresso and cappuccino sizes (as a set of six cups and saucers) as well as in a set of two larger-sized coffee mugs.

What better way to show your love and appreciation for Lavazza coffee beans than by displaying a Lavazza calendar in your home? These highly stylish wall calendars have become an annual tradition for the Lavazza company and its loyal consumers since the first calendar was printed in 1993. The main goal of the Lavazza calendar is to highlight the classiness of Italian culture as well as the sophistication of gourmet Italian coffee from one of the country’s most famous brands, Lavazza.

Though Lavazza calendars are produced and sold by the coffee giant, there is just as much, if not more, emphasis placed on the stunning photography and gorgeous models who make these calendars the iconic art form that they are. While some of the photographs throughout the years highlight Lavazza espresso and coffee drinking, other shots hardly show any indication of coffee paraphernalia in them, and feature models in provocative poses or situations. This is why these calendars are a showcase of not only Lavazza coffee but also Italy’s high-class culture. The first several years of Lavazza’s yearly calendars were shot in striking black and white photography. The past several years have comprised of color photography.

Some of the world’s most famous and most talented photographers have had the privilege of shooting the Lavazza calendar. Past photographers have included David LaChapelle and Findlay MacKay. The 2009 Lavazza calendar was photographed by world-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz. Most of the photos in the 2009 calendar feature the models in sophisticated situations holding a porcelain coffee cup with the Lavazza logo emblazoned on it. One of the unique shots is of a model wearing a mask in the shape of a white coffee cup. Elettra Rossellini Wiedeman, daughter of actress Isabella Rossellini, modeled for the 2009 Lavazza calendar.

If you did not purchase a Lavazza calendar for the year 2009, chances are good that next year, the coffee company’s calendar will be just as classy and intriguing as this year’s was.

Miscela d’Oro coffee beans have continued the tradition of roasting high quality coffee beans since 1946, when the company was founded in Messina, Italy. At that time, Miscela d’Oro focused on creating artisan coffee roast. In the 1970s and 1980s, expansion was necessary because the company started focusing on distributing their products in supermarkets. Today, there are several product lines that make up the Miscela d’Oro family of coffee beans.

Miscela d’Oro offers coffee beans for sale that cater to a variety of individual tastes and needs and are produced with fine Arabica and Robusta coffee beans from various locations in Central America, Asia, Africa, and South America. Grand’Aroma is a medium roast coffee, as is Gran Crema; Gran Crema produces thicker crema than Grand’Aroma, however. Gusto Classico is also a medium roast, but is very strong, in the tradition of Italian coffee roasts. It also produces thick crema. Espresso Decaffeinato will make smooth crema, and it is a darker roast that Miscela d’Oro produces. All these coffees except for Gusto Classico are sold only as whole bean coffee.

Gusto Ricco and Gusto Classico are medium roasts that are sold pre-ground and are great choices for drip or filter coffee machines. Gusto Espresso is made expressly for electric espresso makers and is also a medium roast. Miscela d’Oro also has a line of 100% Arabica coffees. Generally, coffees that contain 100% Arabica coffee beans are known as being the highest quality coffees because Arabica beans are considered better quality and better tasting than Robusta beans. The two 100% Arabica coffee roasts produced by Miscela d’Oro are Filtoro and Filtrodec, a decaffeinated version of Filtroro. Both these offerings are medium roasts and sold both whole bean and ground.

Not only is Miscela d’Oro coffee sold ground and whole bean, but it is also manufactured in espresso pods, which are small pods filled with premeasured amounts of epresso grounds that are meant for usage in ESE (easy serving espresso) compatible espresso machines. These pods are available in a medium espresso roast and also a decaffeinated espresso roast. One unique feature of Miscela d’Oro espresso pods is that they are available in two sizes, single (7 grams) and double (13 grams), so if you like brewing a larger amount of espresso at one time, the double pods will contain enough grounds to do so.

Miscela d’Oro coffee beans are one of Italy’s premiere coffee brands, and with the variety of roasts and packaging types, it’s no wonder it has become a popular brand worldwide.

Timothy’s Coffee is known for its quality and diverse product selection. Like many superior coffee brands, Timothy’s World Coffee is comprised exclusively of Arabica coffee beans. There are two types of coffee beans: Arabica and Robusta. Robusta beans are of lesser quality than Arabica beans and are generally used as filler in less expensive coffees. Not only are Timothy’s coffee beans Arabica beans, which are known for their superior flavor, they all come from the specialty grade of Arabica beans, which is the highest class for coffee beans. When you drink a cup of Timothy’s World Coffee, you are drinking coffee from the top 1 to 5 percent of Arabica beans in the world.

Timothy’s World Coffee is sold in many denominations to satisfy a variety of different coffee drinking needs. For those who own a single-serve coffee machine or those who use this type of machine in an office setting, Timothy’s makes three types of single-serving products. Timothy’s K Cups are produced by Keurig for their one-cup machines, and are available in 30 different flavors of coffee, tea, and other specialty beverages. Coffee pods contain a pre-measured portion of Timothy’s Coffee between two paper filters that are biodegradable. These pods are individually sealed for maximum freshness. Timothy’s also makes fraction packages, which are used for commercial drip coffee machines. This packaging is nitrogen flushed, which helps to preserve the freshness and integrity of the coffee grounds.

For those looking for Timothy’s coffee beans for sale, the company sells several roasts available whole bean, as well as ground. Their breakfast blend is a mild roast made from coffee beans from Guatemala. Hawaiian coffee beans comprise Timothy’s Kona blend. Parisian Nights is a darker roast, while Hazelnut is a flavored offering. All of Timothy’s World Coffee roasts are certified kosher.

Tea drinkers can enjoy several flavors of herbal, black, green, and white tea that is produced by Timothy’s. These are available as K Cups or tea bags.

Newman’s Own coffee is one of the many products from Paul Newman’s food company, Newman’s Own. Although this coffee bears the Newman name, it is actually produced by Green Mountain Coffee via a partnership between the two companies. In keeping with the tradition of selling high-quality, healthful foods, Newman’s Own coffee is certified organic as well as certified fair trade. Also, Arabica coffee beans are used in all of Newman’s Own organic coffee roasts.

One unique aspect of the Newman’s Own coffee line is that they offer two flavored coffees, which is not common for organic coffee. The Café Almond Biscotti coffee features a hint of almond flavor, and Vanilla Caramel is naturally sweetened and does not include added sugars or sweeteners to enhance flavor; the flavor of the coffee is natural and delicious.

There are several other Newman’s Own roasts that are not flavored but still feature high-quality organic coffee. Two lighter blends are Nell’s Breakfast Blend and Colombian Especial. Both blends feature coffee from both light and medium roasts. Newman’s French Roast is a dark roast comprised of Indonesian coffee beans. Fans of Newman’s French Roast appreciate the chocolate and caramel flavors present in it. Newman’s Special Blend is created by blending medium and dark roasts. Those who enjoy drinking Newman’s Special Blend have noted how smooth this particular blend is. Newman’s Special Blend is sold in regular packages as well as in K-cups. In addition to the caffeinated version of this blend, a decaf version of Newman’s Special Blend is also available in standard packages and in packs of K-cups.

Drinking Newman’s Own organic coffee is a great way to enjoy quality coffee as well as support the hard-working small-scale coffee growers in overseas countries by purchasing coffee that was fairly traded with international coffee farmers.

Depending on the type of Ascaso espresso machine you purchase, it can become an eclectic fixture in your kitchen. Espresso makers produced by Ascaso range from utilitarian to completely stylish. Ascaso has been around since 1962, when it was started in Barcelona, Spain. The company started out by producing espresso maker components, but today, Ascaso has proven to be a standout in terms of producing their own espresso equipment as well.

Perhaps the most fashionable of Ascaso’s machines is the Ascaso Dream espresso machine. A retro-styled machine with a giant temperature gauge on the front, the Ascaso Dream appeals to both the practical and fun sides of espresso connoisseurs. Like all of Ascaso’s espresso makers, the Dream is produced in three different ways: a pod-only model, a coffee grounds-only model, and the Dream Versatile, which can accept both espresso pods and grounds thanks to separate chambers for each. Also, the Dream’s water chamber is removable, so filling your machine with water will be a snap. The Dream is offered in an astonishing array of colors, including pink, yellow, red, blue, green – even polka dotted patterns. If you want an espresso machine with personality, the Ascaso Dream is right up your alley.

The Ascaso Elipse is another espresso machine that features a removable water tank and is offered in a “versatile” style that can be used with grounds or pods, but it is more utilitarian looking that the Dream. The Elipse may be purchased in either gray or black.

Two other Ascaso espresso makers are the Basic and the Arc. At first glance, both machines look identical; they are quite similar indeed, but they do have some slight differences as well. Both machines have extremely simple operation; only three buttons appear on the front of the machine, which control the power, liquid flow, and steam, so even a beginner can create their own espresso with ease. Both the Arc and the Basic feature cupwarmers on the tops of the machines’ bodies, but the Arc has a slight railing to ensure that cups will not be knocked off. While the Basic is manufactured in either black or white plastic, the Arc features steel construction. Also, there is a model of machines called Arc Fun, which lives up to its name; these machines are offered in light blue, pink, yellow, and red, instead of just basic black.

If you want your espresso machine to be more than just an appliance that sits on your countertop, consider a colorful Ascaso espresso machine.

Eight O Clock Coffee has built a reputation of quality since 1859. Today, more Eight O Clock bean coffee is sold in the United States than any other brand of whole bean coffee. It is sold in grocery stores and other retail establishments all across the United States, boasting a large collection of roasts and flavors, and offering a rewards club for faithful drinkers.

One of the best features of the Eight O Clock coffee line is that it has a lot of breadth, so there is definitely a flavor or roast for everybody. Also, many of the roasts are sold in a variety of sizes, as well as whole bean or ground, to suit the specific needs of coffee drinkers. Probably the most popular or well-known roast of Eight O Clock coffee is the original roast. It is a medium roast and is sold as whole bean or ground coffee in 12, 36, and 42 ounce bags. A great option if you like making espresso is the Bokar roast. Bokar is a combination of Bogota and Cartagena, two Colombian locations known for excellence in coffee growing. This dark roast is sold in whole bean format in 12 or 36 ounce bags. Other Eight O Clock roasts include French roast, 100% Colombian roast, and dark Italian roast.

For those who prefer decaffeinated coffee, Eight O Clock produces three decaf roasts. Both the original and 100% Colombian roasts are available in decaf. Also, there is a 50% decaf blend, which is made of half decaf and half regular coffee.

Flavored coffees comprise Eight O Clock’s family of roasts as well. Included are mocha (which is made with gourmet cocoa), French vanilla, and hazelnut. All of Eight O Clock’s coffee is made with 100% Arabica beans, so you know every cup will be decadent.

As a thank you to its customers, Eight O Clock coffee offers a rewards club they refer to as Accumul8 Rewards. Earning rewards is quite simple. Consumers are asked to register at the Eight O Clock website, where they enter codes found on packages of coffee in order to earn points. Once a certain number of points have been accumulated, they may be traded in for merchandise, such as magazine subscriptions, gift cards, or free coffee. The number of points you earn from each bag purchased depends on the size of the package. Each 11.5 or 12 ounce bag earns 140 points, while larger sized bags (34.5, 36, and 42 ounces) earn 420 points.

With its vast product line and quality Arabica roasts, it is no wonder that Eight O Clock coffee is a popular choice among American coffee drinkers.

Pasquini is a family-owned coffee equipment business that has been around since 1956. It manufactures both commercial and residential machines; one of the most popular Pasquini espresso machines is the Pasquini Livia 90 espresso machine. The Livia 90 is notable because of its adaptability to a home kitchen environment despite its commercial-grade construction and features. It is so much like a commercial espresso maker, it even has an NSF Sanitiation Certification, which is required for appliances being used in a foodservice location. However, the Livia 90 is not overwhelming and is in fact easy to use.

Not only can the Pasquini Livia brew up to 2 cups of coffee at one time, it can also brew your coffee and steam your milk simultaneously, saving you time and effort and allowing you to enjoy your drink sooner. Another time-saving element of the Livia 90 is its mere 7-minute warm-up time. Pasquini has produced two different Livia 90 models; an automatic model, as well as a semi-automatic machine, which allows the user to turn the flow of beverage on and off themselves. A machine with such durable construction also comes with an appropriate price tag; the cost of a Livia 90 is approximately $1700.

Another commercial-grade Pasquini espresso machine is the Pasquini Livietta. This is an extremely compact machine, so even though it is durable enough for businesses to use, it is small enough to fit in most residential kitchens. The Livietta is only 12 inches tall and 8 inches wide, so you won’t be scrambling to rearrange your kitchen countertops in order to find room for it. The Livietta can brew coffee from both ground coffee and ESE pods such as illy espresso pods. If you are thinking about buying a Livietta, please note that they are available at a discounted price through an illy espresso membership program.

In addition to its espresso maker line, Pasquini also manufactures two coffee grinders. The Pasquini K2 is a doserless grinder, while the Pasquini Moka “Chrome” has a doser, as well as a tamper built into it.
