Capresso Coffee Grinders

The Jura-Capresso company is known for their quality coffee makers, espresso machines, and coffee grinders, most notably the Capresso Infinity burr grinder. This company was formed by the merger of Jura, which was founded in Switzerland in 1931, and Capresso, an American company started in 1994. Both companies are known for their tradition of manufacturing quality coffee-related equipment. One of Capresso’s most remarkable products is what they call an “automatic coffee center,” which grinds coffee beans automatically before brewing and brews a cup of coffee at the touch of one button. Capresso coffee grinders are also a prominent feature of the company’s product line.

If you are a serious at-home barista, owning a coffee grinder is of utmost importance. It is best to grind coffee beans right before you plan to make a cup of coffee or espresso, because coffee grounds lose a significant amount of flavor and aroma when they come into contact with air. Therefore, by performing coffee bean grinding immediately before you brew, you are protecting that rich flavors of your coffee beans an ultimately creating the most savory cup of joe possible.

Jura-Capresso offers three different types of coffee grinders: blade, burr, and conical burr grinders. Blade grinders are suitable for drip coffee makers or percolators and grind the beans at a very high speed. Since blade grinders are high-speed machines, a lot of “heat” is created and this does decrease some of the beans’ flavor. Conical burr grinders are considered to be the best type of coffee grinders and are thus typically most expensive. Coffee beans are crushed between two pieces of metal into uniformly sized grounds. A conical burr grinder works at a very slow speed, which preservers the flavor and aroma of the beans better than a blade grinder, and has the capability of grinding beans into very fine grounds. Conical burr grinders are great for oily coffee beans because the grounds they create are not likely to clog your coffee maker. Traditional burr grinders are faster than conical burr grinders but do work more slowly than blade grinders. Burr grinders cannot grind quite as finely as conical burr grinders.

The Capresso Infinity burr grinder is a high-quality piece of equipment. Burrs are hand-assembled in Switzerland and may be purchased either in stainless steel or black plastic. The Capresso Infinity coffee grinder has four different speeds: extra fine, fine, regular, and coarse. Each speed has four different settings for a total of 16 settings. The Infinity grinder also has a pulsing mechanism. Since it operates at a slow speed, it is very quiet, so if you would rather be woken up by your morning cup of coffee instead of the noise coming from your coffee grinder, the Capresso Infinity burr grinder would be a wonderful choice.

The Capresso Cool Grind blade grinder is another product offering that has a pulse feature. The blade is made of stainless steel, and it can grind enough coffee at one time for 15 cups of coffee. This is a great grinder for preparing a high volume of coffee on a regular basis.

Capresso coffee grinders, coffee makers, and espresso machines may be purchased through Capresso’s website or via many other retailers.
